On Wednesday, November 6th at approximately 4:00 p.m., police observed an individual identified as George Grouser, 54 years old of Columbus, operating a motor vehicle on West Main Street. The officer had prior knowledge that Grouser’s driver license was suspended and there were active warrants for his arrest. A motor vehicle stop was conducted on this vehicle. After approaching the vehicle and confirming the driver’s identity, the officer returned to his patrol vehicle to verify the warrants. While the officer was sitting in his patrol car, Grouser exited his vehicle and fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit, Grouser was apprehended and taken to police headquarters. There he was charged with Obstructing the Administration of Law and Driving While Suspended. He was later released, after bail was posted on his behalf.
