Arrest Made For Recent Burglary & Second Suspect Being Sought – 8/19/13

On July 12th, Mansfield Township police were dispatched to a residence on Jacksonville Road for a report of a past tense burglary to a residence. Through subsequent investigation police identified two suspects, Daniel P. Bennis, 25 years old of Westville, and Zane S. Layton, 23 years old of Paulsboro, who were responsible for the burglary.

On August 9th, police charged Bennis with Burglary and Theft from the residence on Jacksonville Road.  Bennis’ bail was set at $25,000.00 full cash bail.  Bennis was remanded to the Camden County Jail where he remains on unrelated charges.

On August 19th, police charged the second suspect, Zane S. Layton, with Burglary and Theft from the residence.  Layton’s bail was also set at $25,000.00 full cash bail. A warrant has been issued, but Layton hasn’t been located. Anyone with knowledge of Layton’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Mansfield Township Police Department at 609-723-8300 (Dispatch) or 609-298-4411 (Police Station).
