Driver Crashes Vehicle Into Storefront – 10/6/14

On Monday, October 6th at 12:42 p.m. police were dispatched to Boyd’s Pharmacy in Homestead Plaza II on Columbus Road for a motor vehicle crash with injuries. It was reported that a vehicle smashed into the building and trapped an employee. Police arrived and found a vehicle traveled through the front door and into the interior of the building where a female employee was struck and trapped in front of the vehicle. Emergency Medical personnel, Police, and Firefighters worked to free woman from the debris. Mansfield Township Ambulance Corps. transported the victim to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton for treatment of her injuries. The driver of the vehicle, Mary Delaversano, 72 years old of Columbus, was not injured in the crash and received a summons for Careless Driving.
