Police Blotter – 11/11/13

On Wednesday, November 6th at 12:35 a.m., police were dispatched to a dispute at the Riverfront Motel on Route 130. Upon arriving and locating the involved subjects, officers conducted a check and learned that one of the individuals, Leander Mauldin, 52 years old of Mansfield Twp., was wanted on two warrants; one warrant was issued by Willingboro Township Municipal Court and the second by North Hanover Township Municipal Court. As a result, Mauldin was arrested and transported to police headquarters for processing. After processing he was turned over to North Hanover Township Police to answer the warrant in their jurisdiction.

Police stopped a vehicle on Saturday, November 9th at 1:28 a.m. after a random check indicated that the registered owner’s driver’s license was expired. The stop occurred on Route 130 near the Riverfront Motel where police confirmed that the registered owner was driving the vehicle. During the stop, the officer spoke with a passenger, Amilkar Salas, 36 years old of Trenton, who was not wearing a seatbelt. A subsequent check located two warrants for Salas’ arrest that were issued by the municipal courts of Trenton City and Bordentown City. Salas was arrested and taken to the police station. After processing, Salas was released pending a court appearance.

On Saturday, November 9th at approximately 11:28 p.m., police stopped a vehicle on Route 130 South for speeding and failure to maintain its lane.  Investigation revealed that the driver, Jeffrey S. Lovell, 28 years old of Newark, DE, had consumed some amount of alcoholic beverages prior to driving.  After he failed to perform a series of standardized field sobriety tests, Lovell was placed under arrest.  At police headquarters, Lovell was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, speeding, and failure to maintain his lane.  After the completion of his arrest processing, Lovell was released pending a court appearance.

On Sunday, November 10th at 9:16 a.m. an officer observed Tyler Grouser, 25 years old of Marlton, walking on West Main Street. The officer was aware of active warrants for Grouser’s arrest and made contact with him to address the matter. While speaking with Grouser, the status of the warrants was confirmed and Grouser was taken into custody on warrants issued by the Municipal Courts of Mansfield Township, Springfield Township, and Lumberton Township. After being processed, Grouser was committed to Burlington County Jail in lieu of bail.

On Monday, November 11th at 6:00 a.m., an officer was patrolling Route 68 when he observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed. He was able to catch up to the vehicle and stop it to address the speeding violation. During the stop, the officer determined that the driver, John F. Moore, Jr., 36 years old of Browns Mills, was driving while his license was suspended and was wanted on a criminal warrant issued by Camden City Municipal Court. Moore was taken into custody on the warrant and transported to the police station for processing. Moore was issued summonses for the initial speeding violation and driving while suspended, prior to being released from custody with a new court date for the Camden City matter.
