
On Saturday, December 20th at 11:12 p.m., police conducted a pedestrian stop on State Highway 130 in the area of Maple Avenue. The pedestrian, who was identified as Carolyn Vogel, 52 of Bordentown, was visibly under the influence of alcohol, failed to comply with the officer’s orders and attempted to flee the scene on foot. Vogel was apprehended and taken into custody. Vogel was transported to police headquarters, at which time she was processed and issued a summons for a pedestrian violation and charged with Obstructing the Administration of Law. Vogel was later released from custody pending a court appearance.
On Thursday, December 25th at 2:33 a.m. police were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash in the area of Old York Road and Kinkora Road. While police spoke to the driver, later identified as Devon Harper, 25 years old of Hainesport, the odor of alcoholic beverage was detected on Harper’s breath. Officers administered field sobriety tests, which Harper failed. He was then arrested for driving while intoxicated and transported to police headquarters for processing. He was issued summonses for Driving While Intoxicated, Refusal to Submit to Breath Testing, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. Harper was later released to the custody of a friend.
On Saturday, January 3rd at 12:20 p.m. police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 206 after it was reported that an erratic driver was traveling northbound swerving all over the roadway. The vehicle, a 1990 Acura Integra, was being operated by a subject who was later identified as Andres Ortiz-Tzul. Investigation on scene revealed that Ortiz-Tzul had consumed some amount of alcoholic beverages prior to driving. After failing to satisfactorily perform a series of field sobriety tests, Ortiz-Tzul was taken into custody. At police headquarters, Ortiz-Tzul was charged with DWI, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane and Unlicensed Driver. After the completion of his arrest processing, Ortiz-Tzul was released to the custody of a friend.
Police were dispatched to Locust Avenue for a report of a dispute on Saturday, January 3rd at 7:58 p.m. The caller, Mary Thornton, 46 of Columbus, was highly intoxicated and repeatedly interfered with the police investigation. Thornton failed to comply with the officer’s instructions and was taken into custody. Thornton was charged with Obstructing the Administration of Law and was later released pending a court appearance.
On Thursday, January 8th at 9:43 p.m., police performed a motor vehicle stop on Route 206 for a moving violation. During the motor vehicle stop, a check of the driver, Edward D. McIlwee, 44 of Mount Holly, revealed that he was wanted on a warrant issued by Mount Holly Municipal Court. McIlwee was then taken into custody for processing and later released after posting bail.
On Monday, January 12th at 8:52 p.m. police were dispatched to Route 206 for a report of a motor vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that the driver involved, Lonnie Perry, 60 of Philadelphia, PA, had consumed some amount of alcoholic beverages prior to driving. After he failed to pass a series of field sobriety tests, Perry was placed under arrest. At police headquarters, Perry was issued motor vehicle summonses for driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, open container of alcohol in motor vehicle, and failure to exhibit registration card. After the completion of arrest processing, Perry was released from custody pending a mandatory court appearance in the Mansfield Township Municipal Court. As a result of the crash, no injuries were reported.
