Police Blotter – 4/26/14

Police stopped a motor vehicle on Friday, April 11th at 4:48 p.m. on Route 206 for a speeding violation. During the motor vehicle stop, a check disclosed that the driver, Howard Sanford III, 38 years old of Lumberton, was wanted on multiple traffic warrants. Sanford was taken into custody, processed and released after posting bail.

On Saturday, April 12th at 5:24 p.m. police stopped a vehicle on West Main Street for a motor vehicle violation. A check of the driver, Francisco Martinez-Garibay, 27 years old of Columbus, revealed that he was wanted on a traffic warrant. Martinez-Garibay was then taken into custody and later released on bail.

On Monday, April 14th at 10:33 a.m. police received a call for a suspicious person walking north on Rt. 206. Police located a subject matching the description provided, identified as Robert Churry Jr., age 26 of Bordentown. After making contact with Churry, police learned he was wanted on a criminal warrant. Churry was taken into custody and later released pending a court appearance.

Police stopped a motor vehicle on Friday, April 18th at 1:42 a.m. on Route 130 for a traffic violation. During the stop, the officer discovered an occupant of the vehicle, Billy McCallum, 41 years old of Trenton, was wanted on an active warrant. When police requested McCallum exit the vehicle, the officer observed he had an open container of alcohol in the vehicle. McCallum was taken into custody for processing and was later released after posting bail and receiving several motor vehicle summonses.

On Tuesday, April 22 at 9:33 p.m. police conducted an investigative motor vehicle stop on Route 130. During the stop the officer detected the odor of CDS. The passenger, Khaqeisha Brooks, 40 of Burlington, was asked to exit the vehicle. Brooks was found to be in possession of CDS and CDS paraphernalia and was then taken into custody. A check returned that the driver, Arnold Newkirk, 44 of Fieldsboro, was wanted on a criminal warrant and was also taken into custody. Newkirk was released after processing pending a court appearance. Brooks was processed and later released pending a court appearance for her criminal charges.

On Saturday, April 26th at 12:34 a.m. police stopped a vehicle after a random check indicated that the registered owner was wanted on a warrant. Once stopped the officer was able to identify the driver, Stacey Williams, 43 of Columbus, as the registered owner of the vehicle. Williams was taken into custody for processing and later released after posting bail.
