
Police stopped a motor vehicle on Thursday, July 24th at 2:09 a.m. on Rt. 206 for a moving violation. During the motor vehicle stop a check returned that the driver, Sheron Y. Wilson, 27 years old of Edgewater Park, was driving with a suspended license and was wanted for 5 warrants. Wilson was taken into custody for processing, issued several motor vehicle summonses, and later released pending court appearances.
On Monday, July 28th at 1:32 p.m., police were conducting a Mobile Inspection Detail in conjunction with the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission. While inspecting passing vehicles an officer observed a non-moving violation. The officer requested that the driver, Alan Kaufman, 58 years old of Edison, pull into the parking lot. While speaking with Kaufman police detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and requested that Kaufman exit his car. Kaufman repeatedly placed his hands inside his pockets after being instructed not to, so he was patted down for weapons. Police then discovered marijuana on his person and Kaufman was taken into custody. Kaufman was charged with possession of CDS and was released pending a court appearance.
Police performed a motor vehicle stop on Rt. 130 on Tuesday, July 29th at 4:58 p.m. for a moving violation. During the motor vehicle stop a check returned that a passenger of the vehicle, Kenneth L. Pierce, 56 of Trenton, was wanted on a criminal warrant. Pierce was then taken into custody for processing and was later released pending court.
On Saturday, August 2nd at 9:00 a.m., police observed Steven Gonzalez, 23 of Bordentown, walking on Route 130. During the stop, the officer determined that Gonzalez was wanted on warrants. Gonzalez was taken into custody and a search of his person revealed that he was in possession of marijuana. Gonzalez was transported to headquarters for processing where he was charged with possession. Gonzalez was released pending court appearances after posting bail.
Police stopped a motor vehicle on Saturday, August 2nd at 12:26 p.m. on Route 206 for a moving violation. During the motor vehicle stop a check returned that the driver, Brian J. Miller, 30 of Amherst, NY, was wanted for traffic warrants. Miller was taken into custody for processing and was later released after posting bail.
On Wednesday, August 6th at 2:00 p.m. police stopped a vehicle after a random check indicated that the vehicle’s registered owner’s driver’s license was suspended and had an outstanding traffic warrant. During the motor vehicle stop, the officer observed a plastic bag containing marijuana in plain view. Christopher S. Tash, Jr., 25 years old of Millville, was then taken into custody and a subsequent consent search of his vehicle was conducted. During the search other drug paraphernalia was located. Tash was released from custody after being charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and a motor vehicle offense.
Police stopped a motor vehicle for a moving violation on Saturday, August 9th, at 8:23 p.m. on Rt. 206. While speaking with the driver, Stephanie M. Gere, 24 of Little Ferry, the officer detected an odor of alcoholic beverages. Gere was then taken into custody after failing to perform several sobriety tests. Gere was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and several other motor vehicle violations. She was later released to a friend pending a court appearance.
