Theft of Auto Parts Call Results In Two Arrests – 2/18/14

On Tuesday, February 18th at approximately 1:15 p.m., police were dispatched to the Manheim Auto Auction on Route 68 for a theft complaint. Officers met with security personnel and learned that two males were stopped in a vehicle while trying to leave the property with automotive parts removed from another vehicle at the auction. Investigation revealed that Steve Baskin, 45 years old of Mayfield Heights, OH, had taken a set of Audi floor mats and two Audi air compressors, reportedly valued at $525.00. The second subject, Ilya Moshiyakhov, 43 years old of Willoughby Hill, OH, was not charged with theft, but was wanted on an active warrant issued by the Jersey City Municipal Court. Both subjects were arrested and transported to the police station for processing. After being processed, both men were able to post bail and later released from custody pending court.
